Jaguar Rescue Center

The Jaguar Rescue Center is a temporary or permanent home for ill, injured and orphaned animals. With a focus on monkeys, sloths, other mammals, birds and reptiles, the JRC provides veterinary services, round-the-clock care and comfort to animals that would otherwise be unable to survive in the rainforest or the waters of the Caribbean.

We offer packaged tours for groups and individuals, and accommodation for all. Our experienced and friendly staff are ready to help you design the perfect experience for you and your customers. Our project is a temporary or permanent home for ill, injured and orphaned animals. The primary goal of the JRC is to rehabilitate animals and reintroduce them back into their native habitats.

With a focus on birds, reptiles, amphibians and small primates, the JRC provides veterinary services, round-the-clock care and comfort to animals that would otherwise be unable to survive in the rainforest or the sea of the Caribbean in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Limón.

The Jaguar Rescue Center is actually composed of two locations:

• Jaguar Rescue Center, in Playa Chiquita, directly in front of the beach (GPS JRC: 9.642069, -82.723528)
• La Ceiba Primary Forest, in Punta Uva, where we release the animals (GPS La Ceiba: 9.621579, -82.700135)

We have two houses for rent within La Ceiba Natural Reserve: Casa Ceiba and Casa Ilán Ilán. They are located two kilometers from the main coast road on a gravel road. We recommend a 4WD car.

These are two beautiful, independent wooden homes (4 beds and 6 beds) that have been constructed in harmony with the environment and allow you to enjoy comfortable living while fully immersed in nature.

Ecotourism does not mean a loss of comfort. Both houses have hot showers, fans, fully equipped kitchens, king size beds, hammocks and water for drinking. Watch this short video to see the beauty of our accommodation.
